This cartridge is the core hardness treatment stage within the Pure Barista system, designed specifically to protect espresso machines from limescale without stripping the water of essential minerals.

Unlike traditional salt based softeners, this cartridge conditions hardness rather than removing it. It interacts with calcium carbonate in the incoming water and converts it into soft crystals that remain suspended rather than attaching to internal surfaces.

By reducing scale formation inside boilers, heating elements, solenoid valves and pipework, it helps maintain stable temperature control, pressure consistency and long term machine reliability.

The goal is not to create fully softened water. The goal is to control limescale while retaining minerals that contribute to balanced espresso extraction and proper flavour development.

The cartridge operates passively with no electricity, no salt, no regeneration and no wastewater. It is designed for point of use installation directly before espresso machines as part of the Pure Barista system.
