Is this the right system for you?

If you operate an espresso machine on hard water and want to reduce scale build up without stripping all minerals from the water, Pure Barista is designed for that exact application.

Protect Your Machine. Protect Your Coffee.

Great espresso starts with controlled water.

Even high end machines cannot perform properly if the incoming water contains excess hardness, chlorine or unstable mineral balance. Over time, scale build up reduces heating efficiency, affects pressure stability and leads to costly servicing.

Pure Barista is designed to support both flavour and equipment protection by conditioning water before it enters your coffee machine.

Every espresso machine/café layout is different. Installation positioning, flow rate and connection type must be assessed correctly to protect your machine and maintain manufacturer warranty compliance.

For this reason, Pure Barista systems are individually quoted.

Product Information

What’s included in the Pure Barista filtration system

Pure Barista uses a three stage filtration process designed specifically for espresso coffee machines, focusing on hardness control, scale prevention and flavour clarity.

Unlike general drinking water filters, this system is configured to treat water before it enters your coffee machine, helping protect internal components while supporting consistent extraction and taste balance.

The system combines sediment protection, chemical reduction and scale conditioning to deliver water that is better suited to espresso brewing.

Stage 1 – Gradient Sediment Filtration (5 micron)

The first stage uses a 5 micron gradient polyspun sediment filter with a multi layer depth structure.

This design captures larger particles such as rust, dirt, silt, and scale in the outer layers, while finer sediment is trapped deeper within the filter. This improves filter life and helps protect the carbon stage that follows.

This protects solenoid valves, flow meters and internal machine components from debris that can cause blockages or premature wear.

Stage 2 – Hardness Treatment and Scale Conditioning

This stage uses specialised conditioning media designed to treat hardness and limescale up to 1300 mg per litre.

Rather than stripping out all minerals, the cartridge interacts with calcium carbonate to help prevent scale deposits forming on boilers, heating elements and internal pipework.

The goal is not to create overly soft water, but to reduce scale build up while retaining minerals important for proper coffee extraction.

Stage 3 – Coconut carbon block filtration (1 micron)

The final stage uses a 100 percent coconut carbon block to reduce chlorine, taste and odour compounds that negatively affect espresso flavour.

By removing chlorine and chemical residues, this stage helps produce cleaner, sweeter and more balanced coffee, allowing the natural characteristics of your beans to come through.

Tested in accordance with NSF/ANSI 53 for VOC reduction, this stage provides effective chemical filtration while maintaining strong water flow and low pressure drop.

Filter lifespan & maintenance

Regular filter maintenance helps ensure ongoing machine protection, consistent performance and water quality.

Typical guide:

• Sediment filter every 6 to 12 months

• Carbon block filter every 6 to 12 months

• One Stop Plus cartridge as per replacement pack schedule

Replacement frequency depends on water hardness and usage volume.

Cartridges are housed in standard filter housings and replaced during routine servicing.

Replacement filters are readily available and designed specifically for this system.

By removing sediment and chlorine early in the filtration process, the Pure Essential system helps:

• Improve taste, clarity, and odour of drinking water
• Protect plumbing fixtures and filter components
• Deliver consistent water quality with minimal maintenance
• Maintain reliable performance over time

Actual performance will vary depending on incoming water quality and usage.
